This came out of an estate and the woman had several labeled Lanvin pieces and a grouping of what was sold as unlabeled Lanvin as well (see the other listing for a similar top). It certainly has the look of it but other then the fact that I trust the source implicitly and that both tops I am listing today are very well made and have that look of Lanvin I must of course price it as amazing 1950s top in its own right. Made of a fine wool jersey, it is shaped and cut to follow the body. It has a side set zipper indicating its higher end construction. I love the gold leaf-shaped beads, braiding and other beads that circle the neckline - it gives it a subtle, rich feel! Excellent condition.
Bust: 16" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Waist: 12.5" flat across the back from side seam to side seam
Sleeves: 17"
Total length: 17.5" from neck to bottom hem
Unlined and slips over the head to wear with a side painted metal zipper. Some of the gold has rubbed off the bead work around the neck and there is one missing bead at the front (you could steal one from the back), two on one shoulder and a couple of bent beads near the back - it presents very well despite this and I have priced accordingly.
